Help is needed with the upcoming yard sale with set-up on April 21st and 22nd, at the yard sale on April 23rd and 24th, and clean-up on April 24th, at Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church (www.mcbic.org). We need the most help with set-up and clean-up. So, if you can only give a few hours please consider helping during those times. If the slots are filled on the sign-up sheet, please contact Maureen. 

Please commit to help ASAP  While no help will be turned away no matter how late the hour, your early sign-up gives us a better idea where and when we have gaps in the schedule. This is a great opportunity if you/your child are in need of service hours!

Locations:  McBic is located at 1050 S. York Street

Warehouse is located at 507 N. York Street

Please read the descriptions below and then sign-up under the appropriate column:

OW Members Only: - Pick up balloons at Dollar Tree on April 22nd and deliver to McBIC: (contact Maureen - balloons do not go inside church).

Post (April 18th) and remove (April 24th) signs at each of the schools.

Set-up:  April 22nd, 1:00pm-2:30pm - Volunteers will help move tables from the McBIC classrooms into the McBIC  MPR BEFORE items arrive from the warehouse.

April 21st, 6:30-9 PM - Volunteers will help unload the truck. (McBIC youth will be helping to unload the truck 6:30-7:30 PM “ more help is needed as we will be unloading 60 skids into the church!)

April 22nd, daytime hours - Volunteers are needed to go to McBic at ANYTIME during the day to open boxes/containers placed under tables and put the items out on marked tables. There will be volunteers to help answer any questions. This will help lessen the load for the night shift starting at 4 PM. Sign up and come for whenever you are available during the day before 4 PM. NO YOUNG CHILDREN as it will be a safety hazard due to the number of items in the room.

April 22nd, 4 PM and later - Help is needed to continue the work that was done during the day.

Yard Sale:  April 23rd, 7:30 AM to 8 PM and April 24th, 7:30 AM to 12 PM - Help is needed with selling, straightening, and/or organizing at the yard sale.

Clean-up:  April 24th, 11:30 AM to 2 PM - Help is needed to clean-up, pack, and transport tables and back to the warehouse. We need as much help as we can get because everyone is very tired by the end of the yard sale, and the church will need to prepare the room for use on Sunday.

Refreshments for volunteers:  Please sign up to donate a drink or food item for the volunteers helping out at the yard sale. Items can be dropped off at McBic anytime during the day/evening on April 22nd.

Please note:  When signing up to work a time frame/location - depending on the amount of customers at the sale, we may need to ask you to help in another area.

*Please email Maureen if you are able to help at time frames other than those listed (i.e. - work the yard sale 10 AM-noon) and she will put you on the master schedule.
