Note/Comment icon Scouts have always longed to explore the unknown, and stories about brave explorers are among the favorites of boys everywhere. Indiana Jones and Daniel Boone remain iconic characters, typifying our ideas about bold adventurers. Even characters like Tarzan and Mowgli represent the adventurer’s spirit, for they truly became one with the wilderness. Your Scouts will undoubtedly want to get into the very same spirit, and we encourage you to work with them to prepare themed costumes that they can wear to campfires and other campwide events.

From the barren wastelands of the Arctic tundra to the lush jungles of the tropics, real adventurers have been pushing back the boundaries of civilization for centuries. Now – with a Scout’s imagination, of course – there remains just a single wilderness left to be explored: Tuckahoe. Legend has it that a magnificent civilization once existed deep in the heart of this mysterious land. If those legends are true, then surely they left behind great wealth and wisdom, just waiting to be found. Every Scout will be assigned to one of our expedition teams to search for clues of the lost Tuckahoe Tribe.

But what if those treasures fall into the wrong hands? It just so happens that a rival group of explorers, led by the evil Doctor Morton von Maligno, is also searching for the Tuckahoe tribe. Dr. Maligno plans to plunder the ruins to enrich himself, and all can imagine the damage he’ll do. Your Scouts will need to learn their outdoor skills quickly to help save Tuckahoe from the ravages of his greedy treasure-hunters.
