WHO SHOULD TAKE A PLACEMENT EXAM? Students who have taken 3 or more years of one language and wish to by-pass levels 101 and 102. If students have studied more than one language they should take the test in the language with their highest level of proficiency. Students do not need to take the language placement assessment if they have AP, CLEP, I.B. or college credit in language. Students with one year or less of language study or students who wish to begin the study of a new language do not need to take the placement assessment. You will have one hour to take the on campus LPT. Once you completed the test it will be electronically scored and results sent to you in an e-mail indicating what language level you achieved. You are allowed to take the written exam one time - No Exceptions.
