The 33nd Annual Tibetan Bazaar will be held on Saturday September 27, and Sunday September 28, at the Alberta Avenue Community League Hall at 9210-118 Avenue in Edmonton.
All volunteers will receive a delicious momo meal and a drink. Family and friends are welcome to help!
We hope that you will consider volunteering your time for this awesome event. We rely on volunteers like you to make this event a success!
We have several sought after volunteer positions and we kindly ask that you sign up here. If you need assistance, I will gladly assist you.

The following volunteer opportunities are available to support the Tibetan Bazaar.
FRIDAY EVENING SET-UP (2:45 PM - 5:00 PM) - supper will be provided:
LOADING CREW (Friday from 1-230pm)KITCHEN PREP: take directives from the kitchen manager Simon Taylor, cut veggies, wash dishes, etc.
GSL BOOK TABLE SET-UP: help set up of GSL Sales Tables, cover tables with tablecloths, unpack and arrange books. There will be many useful bookstands in the bins.
VENDOR TABLE SETUP: set up tables in gyms (under direction of Jeremy Bell and Gillian Patton)..
PRAYER FLAGS/SHAMBU/LARGE DISPLAYS: put prayer flags outside around trees and stupa (under the supervision of Andrea), put prayer flags in main hall, put shambu around main hall, set up large pictures in main hall.
SATURDAY / SUNDAY Morning Shift 9:30 am-1:30 pm, Afternoon Shift 1:30 pm-5:30 pm
ADMISSION TABLE: welcome guests and answer any questions, receive door admission moneys (cash only) (there is an ATM in the hallway), give paid guest a ticket (keep stub for door prize draw), give volunteers their volunteer package, bring draw tickets to MC (stage area) according to schedule for door prize draws.
FLOAT / RELIEF: Relieve volunteers for small breaks, cover any vacant positions, run errands for kitchen, look for opportunities to cover others when necessary (especially at admission table, book table, food servers, ticket sales), bring beverages to volunteers on shift (water found in the kitchen).
FOOD TICKET SALES / DONATION TABLE: acknowledge all guests walking by, sell food tickets/drink tickets, monitor tea levels and inform kitchen if tea is getting low. FOOD
SERVERS: greet customers, prepare plate of food according to their tickets, notify kitchen if food levels are low.
GSL BOOK TABLE: engage with customers, recommend items if you are able to do so, sell merchandise, insert "dharma etiquette" bookmark in books purchased, record items sold, prices, and mode of payment into sales binder ( a How To sheet to explain will be present), fill out credit card slips for customer (no signature needed).
KITCHEN HELPERS: take directives from the kitchen manager, cut veggies, wash dishes, steam momos, make tea.
ERRAND RUNNER: be available to transport supplies from temple to community hall. Also purchase supplies as necessary. Must have own vehicle and ability to purchase items. Will be refunded for purchased items.
SUNDAY EVENING CLEAN UP (5:00 PM - 7:30 pm)
KITCHEN PACKING: Help pack up and clean kitchen.
TEAR DOWN CREW: help in tear down of: altar, banners, cushions/chairs, GSL Bookstore, Kushok's Store, tables & chairs, prayer flags and other decorations in hall, load into transportation vehicles, sweep main hall and small gym. Help pack moving truck. Help unload truck at temple if needed.
